President’s Tan Talk –  September 2019

After a big attendance at our recent Princes Park 5k/10k/21.1k Fun Run, numbers at the September Tan Time Trial were lower than usual, perhaps because of the forecast of rain.
Needless to say, given that it has only rained two or three times at a TTT since 1982, the predicted rain didn’t eventuate, with barely a light drizzle towards the end – perfect for running!!
We were delighted to welcome visitors from Brazil, who thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful course with the river and the city skyline in the background.

Milestone Achievement: b.

Warren Muller: 250 Tan Time Trials!!!
It was great to acknowledge and celebrate Warren Muller achieving 250 Tan Time Trials, which of course takes more than twenty years to achieve.
Warren and his son, Glen are very regular VRR runners, one of many VRR member families.
Great work Warren.
Mary Vouros ran her last regular Tan Time Trial, as she is moving to Geelong.
Mary has been running with VRR for about ten years, and expressed her appreciation of the friendly, welcoming club atmosphere over all that time.
We look forward to seeing Mary’s happy face from time to time when she is in Melbourne on a Tan day.
We wish Mary well in her life in Geelong.

Jells Park 5/10/15k Fun Run
A reminder that Jells Park 5/10/15k Fun Run is coming up on Sunday 20th October.
Another beautiful course that is a ‘good workout’ with ‘undulations’ and is a good test of your fitness.

Thank you to our volunteers: As always, many thanks to all our volunteers, who organise the run, the recording of results, photos, our great brekky etc.
Without the volunteers, none of it can happen.

Happy Running
