President’s Tan Talk –  March 2019

It felt more like summer than autumn, with a warm morning that was going to become a very hot day, as runners lined up for the March Tan Time Trial.
The possibility of the track being closed along Alexandra Avenue didn’t eventuate, so we had full use of the track.
First-timers included a group of four young women named Georgina, Georgia, Georgie and….. Courtney!! – Welcome girls!!!

Milestone Achievement: Melissa Sirianni was congratulated on 250 Tan Time Trials, but missed all the applause because she started early.
Well done Melissa, who is a great contributor to the club.

Evan Kisler, who has been pushered around the Tan almost since he was born (five years ago) was presented with a beautiful photo album of his five years with VRR, put together by our photographer Helen Myall, who had taken all those really wonderful photos.
Happy birthday Evan, and well done Helen.

Bill Ryan also was congratulated on his birthday, many times older than Evan.
Happy birthday Billy

Members and friends were reminded that the VRR Annual Dinner is coming up on Friday 29 March 2019 at 7pm at QPO 186 High Street Kew. Contact Doug Stokes to book your tickets, always a great night.
IMPORTANT NOTICES:

As from the April Tan, ALL future Tans will start and finish at the Pillars of Wisdom, near the Swan Street Bridge, where we used to start/finish on the quarterly 8km handicap days.
Parking around there is free at TTT time.
(Ed. FYI – This change is to satisfy a council permit requirement)
