President’s Tan Talk – September 2025

The morning of the first Tan Time Trial for spring was actually colder than winter, but with no wind or rain it was a nice morning for a run. It was generally a “slow news day” with no milestones to be acknowledged.

The big positive for September was that our good friends from Inclusive Sports Training (iST) joined us for a run, bringing all the energy and enthusiasm that they are known for.

As October gets closer VRR members who are training for the Melbourne Marathon are getting close to peak training distances before starting to taper for the race. Good luck to all VRR members who are lining up for another marathon.

See you in October,

Michael Kennedy
VRR President

Start of the September 2025 TTT
(with PLENTY of our Inclusive Sports Training – iST friends included)

Alice Oehr is looking very strong on the ‘dog leg’ mountain climb segment.
Dean Andrews is another making the climb look easy!

Now Evan Kisler is definitely a VRR member to watch out for. He just keeps getting faster and it won’t be too long before he’s the first 4k’er to finish .
Now is it just a ‘coincidence’ that Russell Bulman wore a Geelong Football Club top on the day after they qualified for the AFL preliminary final?

Marianne Martin – you seriously want me to climb up this mountain !!!!

Club News

Once or twice a year, VRR has the pleasure of iST (Inclusive Sports Training) joining us for a Tan Time Trial.
iST training is a private enterprise coaching business.
It specialises in coaching athletes with learning and physical difficulties and prepares them to participate in mainstream competitions.
iST focuses on ‘fun, fitness and sports training’ with likeminded peers and expert coaching.
Here are a few of the many facebook photos from Saturday.
